Our Story

It’s quite easy to sit in familiar spaces and be unaware of how they might negatively affect our day to day.  Even ordinary objects such as a tattered pillow or a chipped mug add a bit of chaos we don’t need.  Julie Carmody is a thoughtfully curated designer furnishings and lifestyle shop created to come alongside you and help revive your home.  We encourage you to let go of items you don’t love and replace them with some of our beautiful pieces specially handpicked by Julie herself.

“There is nothing more satisfying than placing the perfect piece in the perfect spot and seeing the power it has to transform the feel and mood of a room. It is my joy to provide you a shop where you can dream and trust that each piece was chosen with you in mind.”

Hood Canal

Our Name

Julie’s namesake, her Great Grandpa Carmody, built a special family beach house on Hood Canal in Washington State. This 1940s house full of memories represents…coming home.  We hope when you experience our products in the spaces where you dwell, you too will feel a sense of belonging, rest and beauty.

Our Commitment to Quality

At Julie Carmody, we care deeply about the products you use in your home. We believe it is important to be thoughtful about the origin of each item and the craftsmen behind them. We have worked hard to find you beautiful, quality pieces that were made in family run shops, small batches or in some way are supporting social good.  Whether it is the visually impaired folk who make stunning horsehair brushes or our favorite family shop in Croatia, the people that craft and supply our products matter and we want to celebrate the hands that made them.
